POSITION SUMMARY

Zinc Collective is currently seeking a Development Coordinator to join our diverse and high-performing
team. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Growth and Engagement, the Development Coordinator
serves as the backbone of the fundraising operation by ensuring all administrative processes are in
place to provide impeccable donor services. They will be responsible for implementing a streamlined
process for identifying, tracking, and cultivating new and existing donor relationships, preparing
briefing materials, and overseeing donor research, managing the donor acknowledgement process,
and assisting senior staff members with some administrative tasks. This is a great opportunity for
someone who is exceptionally detail-oriented, organized, passionate about Democratic politics, and
eager to use their skill set to affect change in the Democratic space. Limited travel is required for
this position.



ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data Management: Oversee all aspects of donor data management, ensuring records
    are organized, updated, and accurate for all current Zinc Collective programs and future
    long-term focused projects. This includes:
    • Maintaining development database in CRM and other team resources
    • Assisting with data clean-up, including deduplication and reviewing edits to records
    • Coordinating with Zinc Collective data manager to ensure smooth integration into
      larger organization-wide data tracking practices
    • Owning and overseeing all development team trackers and 
    • Ensuring all calls, emails, and meeting notes are logged and organized in our CRM
    • Creating and facilitating gift acknowledgement process, drafting and producing
      donor letters and ensuring thank you notes are drafted and delivered regularly
    • Managing and regularly updating online fundraising pages, contribution forms,
      and other external documents
    • Generating up-to-date donation reports and crafting formatted giving summaries
    • Maintaining a working knowledge and background on all donors, especially
      high-dollar, multi-year contributors
  • Administrative Support: Providing administrative and logistical support to the
    development team,particularly in managing donor relations and fundraising activities.
    This includes:
    • Draft requisite briefing materials, including memos, emails, and talking points,
      and follow-ups, while managing next steps for the Chairman, President, and other
      principals
    • Creating links and invitations, managing RSVP’s, and tracking pledges for events 
    • Compiling and creating folders and marketing materials for in-person meetings
    • Participate regularly in programmatic meetings and updates to stay connected and
      informed on ongoing work and successes
    • Work with Development team and compliance consultants to ensure the accuracy
      and timeliness of campaign fundraising reports
    • Drafting and producing donor thank you notes
    • Attend fundraising events, meetings, and gatherings, as needed
    • Drafting donor collateral, including program collateral and Development newsletters
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Coordinating internal meeting schedules, serving as a primary note-taker, and
      ensuring all meeting outcomes are shared in a timely manner
    • Assist with various logistical support for senior staff, including travel, scheduling,
      and ad-hoc requests
  • Prospect Research and Management: Assist the development team with the identification,
    cultivation and solicitation of prospects for call time, events, and individual meeting outreach.
    This includes:
    • Conducting thorough research on potential donors and compile relevant
      information for effective fundraising outreach
    • Working with the development team to develop individualized plans and/or
      strategies for cultivation and solicitation of contributions
    • Maintaining and updating donor database with accurate call data and
      contact information


THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT MUST DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: 

  • Has 2-4 years of professional experience as a marketing or development/finance professional
    assistant on a political campaign or at a non-profit or mission-driven organization
  • Outstanding attention to detail and strong time management skills
  • Is an organized, driven self-starter who can work well under pressure, with a variety
    of people, and on multiple projects 
  • Proven ability to master and learn processes and platforms quickly, analyze data,
    and synthesize information
  • Ability to manage a project through day-to-day requirements, duties, and deadlines
  • Comfortable owning a variety of deliverables, working independently, hitting
    deadlines, and being held accountable
  • Solid written, verbal, and interpersonal customer service and communication skills
  • Fluency with contact relationship management tools (HubSpot, NGP VAN, Salesforce)
  • Experience managing sensitive information with professionalism and complete confidentiality
  • Experience managing up and across teams
  • Alignment with and excitement about Zinc Collective’s mission to work
    toward persistent Democratic majorities


THE MOST COMPETITIVE APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE SOME OF THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: 

  • Demonstrated success with HubSpot, NGP VAN, and/or ActBlue
  • Experience engaging directly with donors and high-level stakeholders at a political
    organization or campaign
  • Experience building and executing a consistent donor acknowledgment process 
  • Experience in researching and synthesizing information about individual
    donors, foundations, and organizations, using multiple sources and means of
    gathering details
  • Passion for Democratic and Progressive politics



COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The annual salary for this position is between $75,000 and $85,000, and is commensurate
with experience.

Zinc Collective provides the option of enrolling in medical, dental, and vision coverage plans
for both the primary employee and applicable dependents. In addition, we provide a generous PTO policy, 
and the ability to contribute to a 401k, with a match, after 6 months of employment.
